I started the Century City Kids Club in 1992 when my daughter was two, to create a home-like environment for children to enjoy their childhood while developing and growing in independence and creativity.

In my garden school, I avoid the overly programmatic structure of the average Los Angeles preschool, and instead emphasize learning through play. Children interact with nature throughout the day, learning to navigate the one-room schoolhouse and grounds independently. In addition to the outdoors and nature, there is an emphasis on reading, as well as art projects, which often repurpose natural and recycled elements. Each child is exposed to the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and other Pre-K curriculum at their own pace and interest level.

I am a firm believer in meeting each kid where they are, nurturing their self-confidence and curiosity.
